Ammec, based out of Salzburg Austria, has developed the MST-S2000, a fully automatic wire pull and die shear tester. The patten recognition system, will determine the proper pull position on the wire, and allow for the first time to rule out operator selected position which can and do affect actual results. Another feature, is the multiple cartridge design, allowing the machine to be able to test different ranges in wire pull and die shear, without changing and recalibrating cartridges. Wire pull cartridges have 6 axis of force recording angles of pull force from any position.
The MST-S2000, is a new design in the realm of wire pull and die test. With its cartridge holder base on a hexagon, it can hold several tools, cameras, different pull tester modules, and various die shear modules.
This brings a flexibility to the market that has never been there. Allowing for instance testing of hybrid devices with different wire sizes, which may require different wire pull modules or die shear modules on other systems.
Pricing for this machine, with two modules starts at approximately 63,000 EURO. For automatic operation one cartridge must be the camera cartridge. Additional wire pull cartridges are 8,000 EURO, and Die Shear cartridges are 8,000 to 10,000 EURO depending on range. Delivery time around 90 days.
